HE LIMPS through the door and grimaces as he eases himself into a chair. "Bad back," he says. "I think it's from too many hard hotel beds."
He manages a smile at the irony of a man who makes his living putting people into beds falling victim to them.
Brad Gurrie is general manager of Travelzoo for Australia and Singapore, a company spawned by the proliferation of online sites offering deals on hotel rooms, car rentals, cruise ship cabins and airline tickets.
Gurrie and his team trawl the online sites, culling what they believe are the best offerings and emailing a list of 20 to their 100,000 Australian subscribers each week. He's come straight from the airport after a flight from Sydney, and his spine is giving him hell.
